Post Any English professors (or writers) to help a fledgling prof?
I am working on a writing syllabus for college freshman composition, and I'm trying to find interesting, worthy assignments. Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of our class text, yet (Little Brown Handbook), so that makes lesson planning much more challenging. I've done the autobiographical narrative assignment in the past, and I'm trying to find something more interesting. Any suggestions for a good narrative writing (or other) assignment? Thanks in advance for any help you can share.

You aren't the only English professor around in your dept are you? Ask the other profs for sample syllabi and course outlines.

With the election and primaries coming up, How about narrative about how they are taking part in the voting process etc?
