What are the prospects for becoming an ESL Instructor in the state of California and making a decent living at it? I don't mind if I never become a rich man, I just want to do something that I sincerely enjoy. I already hold a BA in English and am considering entering graduate school to pursue either a certificate or masters in the area of Linguistics/Teaching Englsih as a Second Language. I am sure that I would rather teach it at the adult level rather than high school age or younger. I'd imagine the fact that California has a huge and varied immigrant population as well as many foreign students that there are some jobs for ESL Instructors. Any California ESL Instructors that could help me out with some advice or personal experiences? I know how to google, thanks.
