I'm not positive about the pay (12 euros/hr, starting average, I think), but two people working for one apt. would definitely work. BCN is more expensive than it used to be, but paying rent, groceries and going out is no problem on this salary.
However since you don't have papers it'll be harder to find jobs. Getting sponsored for papers is rare especially with all the other teachers coming from anglophone countries that don't need them. You should try anyway if you feel strongly about it. Barcelona is worth it. There is always a chance that you'll find a way through all these paper requirements.
