Are there any books available to work on penmanship?
I'm starting college very soon and would like to develop a way to write neatly and quickly. I skated through high school without taking notes, but I doubt this can continue any longer.
I've heard a good place to find books like these are in ESL classrooms (not all alphabets are Roman-based like ours) but I've gotten no answers from there. Sorry if that sounded strange. I CAN write, but I stopped using cursive before high school and always wrote illegibly when I wasn't typing everything on a keyboard. I'm no aspiring calligrapher, but I'd definately like to write well for once in my life.

Most large bookstores will have books and workbooks to help you with your penmanship.

I've never heard a high school graduate asking for handwriting books...
but anyways. You might be able to find some printouts online. Google "handwriting practice" or something to that effect.
If you have any friends who are / were homeschooled or homeschool their children, they might be able to give you the name of a publishing company that they order from. Try Scholastic, they produce a lot of children's materials. There's also a company called Handwriting Without Tears that's supposed to be pretty good (http://www.hwtears.com/) maybe you can find something on there. You could also contant your local elementary school and ask them what they use.
If worst comes to worst, you could always make some templates in Microsoft Word or sit with a notebook and rewrite your letters over and over again. On MSW if you make white Word Art with black border, you could fill in the letters with a pencil. You could also probably download a font that has just the dash marks that you trace over.
