The Cambridge Language Education series is very good.
"From Reader to Reading Teacher," "Second Language Writing," "Reflective Teaching," etc.
Here's a link:

Is there a library where you live? They'll have a good collection of books that you're looking for.

yes, you can try the TKT from Cambridge (Teaching Knowledge Test) not only does it give you some great insight, it also prepares you for a certification on TKT.
Jeremy Harmer has a great book too... The Practice of English language Teaching (Longman).
and there is
A Course in Language teaching by Penny Ur (Cambridge)
You can look for more resources on the ESL page
