 Big Books
Hi! I am still a student teacher and I learned in one of my university classes that big books were very useful for ESL teaching for young children. I know that good big books are those that have simple story lines, simple but rich vocabulary, big letters, repetitions and recurrent passages that students can repeat to participate in the story and feel that they actually read the story, rhymes, colourful illustrations, etc. I would like to teach English as a second language to young children. I would like to buy big books that would get my students involved by repeating recurrent passages and that would maintain their interest. Dou you have any big books to suggest me? Have you tried a big book that was successful with your students? Thanks!

Hi I know you can go online to suscribe to some websites where they provide teaching material. Some of them provide Big Books that are really nice and simple to read. Also if you go on the Speak campus website you probably will have some links where you can get some books. I know that big books are interesting but have you ever though of using online book instead. It is easier to use and it cost nothing. You can use thousands of them because they are all online and free. It is more interactive for young students because most of the time the images move. Think about it. It's cheaper for you and also for the school that will hire you in the futur.
