 Children in Japan
Hello all!
My wife and I are both interested in teaching in Japan, yet we have a 2 year old daughter.
Does anyone know how expensive it is to raise her if we both work?
Thanks!

Japan can be quite affordable if you can live without some of the mod-cons from home. Also if you chose somewhere outside the major cities (away from Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya), it will be much cheaper.
In The major cities you can expect to spend around 100,000 - 150,000 Yen per month on living expenditure. In smaller cities, you can get away with only speding 60,000 - 80,000 Yen per month.
My husband, our 2 children have been living in Japan for 3 years now. And we have been teaching English and also Mandarin. The cost of bringing children up in Japan will probably be comparable to back home. As the teaching wages are much higher than in other countries, Japan should still be a great place to come and teach!!
