Post determiners before plural count nouns.
Hi everyone, I'm preparing to tutor English and need help with a grammar point

I understand that plural count nouns do not require determiners unless they are referring to something specific.

I have made some sentences that demonstrate that fact, yet I feel they sound very strange.

"I enjoy visiting schools. Please take me to schools."

"I want to know what cats look like? Please show me cats."

"There are bums in need everywhere. Go help bums."

"I want tomatoes. Go cook tomatoes."

(since in the 2nd sentence of each line, the speaker is not talking about
a specific group of streets, cats, bums or tomatoes does leaving out a
determiner before the nouns follow the rule?)

I'm trying to understand the logic here to be able to explain it to students.
I really appreciate the grammar advice of experience teachers, thanks so much in advance!
