Well, I do!
I really have a constant need to correct grammar! I see a mistake and I get really fidgety and annoyed if I can't correct it. It annoys other people, but I'm OK with it. I also like to count the number of letters people say when they're speaking, and I try to get it to add up to an even number. If it doesn't, I just keep listening until it does. Is that OCD?

The second part of your question indicates that you have OCD tendencies. But as long as it doesn't interfere with your concentration or performance or upset you, it should be okay. Just don't let it get out of control.

Probably you are an OC. OCD provide time to do rituals such as hand washing (most common), counting numbers, perfectionist, organized and with constancy in environment..

No it's not OCD. I see a mistake and I correct it. It's natural and just shows that you are attentative and are being helpful to the person who made the mistake.

I would think it was OCD, but I tend to think most of us have a mild case of it. I am a counter. I count things constantly. The tiles on the celing, the cracks in the wall at work, etc. It doesn't interfere with my life in any way its just kind of a boredom thing mostly.
Handwashing, I'm not compulsive but my hands always feel dirty. lol

Yes, these are symptoms of OCD. OCD is only a problem if it takes a significant amount of time per day or is a constant problem which is diminishing your quality of life. If it doesn't bother you then it may not be an issue. Correcting grammar would not be an OCD symptom unless your distress of not being able to correct it is very high. But the adding up of the letters is an OCD symptom. How much time do you spend doing this? And do you want to stop? Do you feel if you wanted to you could stop or does it cause you great anxiety to do so? OCD is highly treatable. I have it and sought treatment. It was the best thing I could have done.

If this is your only symptom, I would say NO, you do not have OCD. A diagnoses of OCD is much much more intense than correcting grammar.

When I was in highschool, before I was diagnosed, I used to white out words in my notebook that didn't have a "pretty" caligraphy or were mispelled. I would white out the words several times until I was satisfied. It was an unnecessary use of my time. It was an obsessive behavior.

Obssesives behaviors are those that although you know they are wrong you keep doing them. You can't always have perfect grammar. If you don't need to turn in a document to be evaluated, it would be unhealthy for you to worry constantly about the grammar.

If you haven't been diagnosed, get an appointment with a psychiatrist. There is a test where a solution is injected into your bloodstream and then a "picture" of your brain is taken by a machine. This test shows wether you have a serotonine deficit (serotonine is a neurotransmitter in your brain that is used by your brain to calm you down). If you have a deficit of this neurotransmitter then you have OCD.

Besides antianxiety medication, psychiatrists prescribe antidepressants. The symptoms of OCD makes the person that has it deppressed.

You should get an appointment to see a psychiatrist. Ask your parents to help you find out who is the best psychiatrist in your area.

OCD is tough. Besides seeing a psychiatrist who will prescribe you medication you must see a a psycologist that has trainning in Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

Finding a good psycologist is as important as finding a good psychiatrist. DO NOT go to a psycoanalyst. Psycoanalysts are full of shet. Psycoanalysis is not a science. Psycology is a science.

I wish you all the best
