Any ideas on how to teach conversation in English ? any lessoning plan links and tips ?

I don't know if this is exactly what you are looking for, but this is what I learned from, Kate Kinsella, who I think is an educational goddess. I teach ESL so the example below is super simple. If you have more advanced students you can use this basic framework to create something more complex, or with much harder vocabulary.

Pick the topic for a class discussion, like How to be a good student. Then have students list 3 ideas of what a good student does. Then after students have completed this step, give them a sentence starter: If someone wants to be a successful student, he or she should ____________. Have students pick their favorite idea and put it into the sentence starter. Walk around and make sure they phrase their answer correctly to fit it into the sentence.

Next have them read their answers to a pre-designated partner in order to practice saying the words.

Pick two or three students to share with the whole class. Then ask for volunteers. Make the students read the sentence starter from the beginning. This strategy can be used into incorporate new vocabulary, to get students talking, or even as a pre-reading or post-reading discussion.
