Re: Foreign Exchange Programs?
Hello there,
I think study abroad programs are wonderful because it gives one the chance to learn another language and culture first hand, and sometimes that experience can open not only your mind but also future career opportunities that you may not have thought of otherwise. Both my husband and I were exchange students in college and have since lived and worked in several countries around the world.
But you are right to be cautious, especially when dealing with small and private programs that you don't have enough background information checks. I would recommend going through a study abroad program sponsored by an accredited university in the US, this will not give you peace of mind about its legitimacy, it will also help to ensure your studies will count towards whatever credentials you might need for your future career.
Good luck and have a wonderful time wherever you choose to go!
