Ok, so I've got GUM(grammar usage & mechanics) semester test coming up! but here's the problem

I only understood about 50% of it. I got lucky and passed so far. but this test is like...10-20% of my final grade for English and i cant fail it.

I did not understand:

Passive/Active voice

Independant/subordinate clauses

Noun clauses

Predicate Normative

Direct/indirect object


Would someone please explain these in relatively simple terms? I'm not stupid, but i am having ALOT of trouble with this.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PASSIVE AN ACTIVE VOICE??

I know about direct and indirect objects. For a direct object just go to http://www.chompchomp.com/terms/directobject.htm

and Indirect objects are, in a nutshell, something that benefits from the verb. I.E. i gave my pants to my dad

i is the subject, gave is the verb, my pants is the direct object, and my dad is the indirect object

For the rest of them, just google it, and you should fine some good results.
