We don't have very big phones. You probably saw old movies that were made when phones were larger.

Cops and cab drivers usually do drive Crown Victorias. There are tons of fat people here, but they mostly live in undesirable areas like the Midwest and the South.

There are about 20-25% of the population who smoke, but they are mostly lowlifes. Most educated people do not smoke.

Teenagers certainly do drink beer and many cops eat donuts, but that's a long-held stereotype.

The cop-donut thing comes from the idyllic TV of the '50s, because life was perfect then (at least on TV) there was no crime so there wasn't anything for cops to do but hang out at the donut shop. The stereotype stuck.

There are lots of fat people, lots. Obesity is a huge problem. But movies are a consumer based business and who wants to look at fat people.

We smoke a lot less than we used to, and much less than Europeans. But it's still pretty common, usually we smoke in bars.

The Crown Vic has a perfect power to weight ratio for police purposes. It is fast enough to stay with sports cars, and heavy enough to "pit" larger vehicles. We have big roads here, so it's not important to be nimble. Taxi companies buy a lot of cars, but used Crown Vics that the police can't use anymore are pretty cheap so they often make an agreement with Police departments in larger cities. Many of our taxis used to be police cruisers.
