Post How can I get to Japan?
I really want to go to Japan sometime..like in a few years when I'm 15 or 17..what should I do to get ready? And how do I get there? Foreign exchange programs are extremely expensive, but if that's the only way to get there, I'll start saving now.

And does anyone know any japanese tutors that can teach me over the internet for free or for very little? Geez..I feel like I'm asking the impossible...

Are there any other ways to Japan besides Foreign Exchange Programs? And can you lead me to some sites that have info on the culture of Japan? Links would help. I want to learn everything about Japan.

Well, there is quite a lot way to go to Japan. If you like to spend short term stay, I like to recommend you a homestay program cause it quite cheap and you can interact with japanese people.

Please refer to this program : googling it with "homestay in Japan"

For sites that have info on the culture of japan : googling it with "japanese culture"

To get ready: Learn Japanese, learn Japanese culture and etiquette.
To get there: Plane or boat. Foreign exchange if you want, but it's a bit of a long time for someone so young. A vacation would be a long enough time as a trial test.

Tutors for free or for very little? Yes, you are asking the impossible. You can't learn *good* Japanese online; no ifs, ands, or buts about it. You can try to learn parts of it, but without a sturdy foundation to set you off; you won't get very far fast. The Internet is good for practice and improvement, but with the difficulty of the Japanese language's writing system, a real face-to-face teacher and program is truly needed.
It's too much work for one person to try to learn all by themselves. It's a completely different language with a completely different writing style and the Internet has yet to become a magical place where all helpful information is simply zapped into the brain.

Vacation. Win a trip. Make a raft and start paddling there. Be a stow-away in cargo.
