Read until you go blind and then begin reading in braille, but pick quality stuff not the trashy romance novels.
There is a fun game to play with the dictionary called "Search". It is played by randomly picking a word and then picking a word from its definition and looking it up, then picking a word from that definition and looking it up and so on until
1) you find the last, single (one-word) definition. (Ultimate definition)
2) you start going in circles.
3) You get tired of it.
It can be played with a thesaurus also.

You can learn new words just by talking with people- and then you know how to say them too!
If someone uses a word you don't know- you can say, "I've never heard that term before."
You can also get a word-a-day calendar or have dictionary.com email you a new word each day.
Remember, some of the most brilliant and insightful people were not formally educated just really curious.
As for better grammar- everyone has their own; there is no right or better.

It can be very risky to adopt new vocabulary without learning how to properly utilize it. You can expand your vocabulary simply by reading the dictionary, but cramming makes it difficult to remember what you've read.
You might try one of the many "Word of the Day" sites out there. My favorite is at http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/. Learning a new word each day can be fun, and it's a lot easier to manage than reading the dictionary front-to-back.
Be careful when "pretending to be smart", especially when you have no desire to study. You may very well talk yourself into a hole you don't know how to get out of, which is a lot more embarrassing than admitting ignorance.

You can start by using capitals at the beginnings of sentences . Try apostrophes where needed . I'm , not im .
Vocabulary can only be increased by learning new words .
You're welcome-a- quadrillion .

VOCABULARY BUILD-UP:
My suggestion is this: "One Word A Day"
During your free time, do this on a daily basis:
1. Pick one WORD from the dictionary.
2. Get its Meaning.
3. Write down the word and its meaning
4. Memorize it.
5. Comprehend it.
6. Use it in a sentence several times until the word and its meaning stick into your mind.
7. Practise using the word again and again.
8. Record your voice as you practise. Listen to it before bedtime so you won't forget the word and its meaning.
There are 365 days a year. Therefore, in one year, you would have a mastery of 365 words in your vocabulary.
Don't rush. Only ONE WORD each day. It has been proven effective.
USING BETTER GRAMMAR
Read a lot, not only books and pocketbooks, but also newspapers and magazines.
TV is amusing. Watch and observe how the actors talk. Repeat after them.
Good Luck!
