A very good friend of mine has become obsessed with all things Asian (especially and usually Japanese) and dumped a lot of her non-Asian friends for Asian ones. All she does and all she cares about is Japan, Japan, all the time. Anime, manga, sushi, everything. She puts down Canada and our country's culture, talking about how inferior it and every other country is to Japan. She even wants to go there and teach English, despite knowing nothing about what it's really like there. She lost a lot of her non-Asian friends and is now pissing off her Asian friends because they think she's pathetic - she's more Asian than they are, according to them. All her new and old friends talk about her behind her back and I'm afraid that soon she'll have no one left.

Should I confront her? Any advice? BTW, I'm not putting down Asians, I have Asian friends too.

She sounds manic. She will get over it and move onto another culture in a few months like Madonna.
