since i am a foreign student, ill tell you what i like about my english teachers:

I appreciate it if they can be fun at class, but some of the teachers i know, are too nice to the students, which is not good, i think, that teachers should be fun and dicipline at the same time, because if you are too nice all the time, the students will easily be bored with you.

Teach grammar with a fun way, make it like a game, and grammar is a rule(which it is). like tell your stidents to talk for about ten minutes, if they get something grammatically wrong, get some lipstick on their faces, or something fun like that....

give them work that helps their vocabulary, some kids may not like books, so I think you should better go with movies, on dvds are 'subtitles' i advice you to use the English subtitles, that are usually used for the hearing impared, so they can hear and read the words at the same time, better than just reading them in books, they wont know how to pronounce words by just reading books....

well..............I guess thats all.....i have in mind now, if you want to ask me further, my email is dasletzt3inhorn@yahoo.com

I need more information.
Who are your students? That is, what level of English do they have now? (none, some, quite good but need help with vocabulary and accents?)
For what purpose are you teaching? To pass an exam? For daily life (survival skills), for work vocabulary?
What age are your students? Children, adolescents and adults all learn differently and have different preferences in teachers. Children and adolescents like to have 'steath' learningthat is, they do not perceive what they are doing as work. Young adults and adults are more straight forward and generally prefer some homework for example.
Once you know the needs of your learners, you can easily plan a course of 10 weeks that suits their needs.

I learnt english as a foreign language, but the way you write, I think you need some lessons yourself.
