At my school we are doing a British English play (Pride and Prejudice) and I was wondering if anyone had any tips for picking up an British English accent for this? I don't need to learn the words they use because we'll have a script. But, I do need to know how to pronounce words properly. I would like it to sound convincingly British English not just oh she barely learned it for her role in this play. I haven't actually got a role yet, but I want to be prepared.

just watch some british movies and listen to british radio or audiobooks and eventually you'll pick it up. immerse yourself in it, just like you do when you're learning a new language

well watch a lot of movies or shows based in britain to see how certain sounds or letters are pronounced ya know? and when u say words with r's really pronounce the r in it. good luck

Hey, im english, and am not sure how to describe the accent. I do know that if you seperate words like you're into you are, it makes you sound slightly posher. and pronounce all of your T's.
Supposedly we speak like we have a plum in our mouth, haha, you cud try that?
