I'm about to graduate with my BA in International Studies and a minor in Japanese (language and culture). Before going into graduate school, I want to spend some time (at least and ideally 1 year) in the totally-full-time-working world, getting a taste of the direction my degree has set me in...primarily Asian affairs. So, does anyone have any suggestions, know any success stories, have any insider information that could lead me to a worthwhile opportunity? If it came down to particulars and skills, I'd be happy to answer any questions. I just feel like I've exhausted my internet job opps searches overseas...the majority of the results being ESL-type teaching positions, which I want to avoid (too many bad stories and my Japanese and Korean friends continually urge me not to partake in that line of work...it was my first choice, but they tell me about the general social disrespect, poor contracts, etc...avoiding that) Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Yes, there are a lot of things wrong with the ESL industry in Korea. I have been here 3 years and have see the good, the bad and the ugly.

You may be able to find a job working in a company doing curriculum development or something along that line of work.

I would think if you speak Japanese well, that you'd be better off trying in Japan first.
