Post I was wondering how to become an ESL teacher for the elementary/ middle school level in Kentucky.?
I will be getting my BA in English this spring and I really would like to be an ESL teacher. I know that having an English degree is a plus, but I don't really know how to get started. Do I need to be certified in ESL? If so, does the states provide it or do I need to take it at a college? Any information in getting started in ESL would be great. Thanks!

You probably need to take classes specific to teaching ESL and also pass exams such as the PRAXIS. Each state's requirements are different. Look on your state's Dept of Ed website. It is usually explained very clearly there.
