Irish Open heading to Portrush
The Irish Open has a new home - Royal Portrush on the scenic Causeway coast of Northern Ireland.
The club is set to be officially unveiled on Friday as the event's new.
The decision to move the European Tour event northward from Killarney, Co Kerry, in the Irish Republic comes on the back the incredible successes of Northern Irish major winners Darren Clarke, Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell in the last two years.(

All three men have been vocal supporters of the bid to bring the Irish Open to the famous links course. McDowell and Clarke even have homes in Portrush.
It is hoped that the successful staging of the event this June will add further momentum to the campaign to bring the Open Championship itself back to Northern Ireland, and Portrush, for the first time since 1951.
After Clarke's

East Londonderry Assembly member John Dallat said securing the Irish Open could open the way for a major return.
