Post Learning Mandarin with unsophisticated movies?
I am almost finished with my Chinese course (bought on Amazon.com), and soon I will be looking to learn more.

I would like to learn by watching Mandarin movies.
(I know the best way is to speak to a native speaker, but that is not available).

Would you please suggest a movie that would be simple and clear enough for an American to learn Mandarin?

It would be really nice if you could suggest a movie that has an accurate (as possible) translation to English (more likely if the movie is simple and unsophisticated),
also, it would be nice if it is a movie where the characters speak clearly and slow.

I include a cut & paste if my course to give you an idea of how much Mandarin I know:

http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Chinese-Mandarin-Beginner-Intermediate-Basic-Intermed/dp/1400021030/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-4514724-4297765?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1191617369&sr=8-1

Thank you for your advice.
Also, I prefer a non-violent movie, so this probably leaves out a lot of Kung Fu movies,

Thank you

I don't really know any movies.. but I know some good Taiwanese tv shows. :]

here's all the ones I know (I haven't watched all of them):
Hana Kimi, It Started With a Kiss, Devil Beside You, MARS (Zhan Shen), Huan Huan Ai, Summer x Summer, Smiling Pasta, Bump Off Lover, Green Forest My Home, My Older Sister, Romantic Princess, and Jia You! Dan Chao Fan.

They're all on www.crunchyroll.com
Make an account and you can watch all the ones they have. ^^

Since you want to watch a movie in Mandarin, why don't you watch a good one...One of my favourite is Three Times*(Zui hao de shi guang), from Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao Hsien, slow paced, easy to understand dialogue, Chang Chen is great, and the bonus is Shu Qi in one of her best performance (not counting Sex and Zen but that's another story...)
