 Moving to Srbija, any advice?
I'm getting married to a guy in Serbia. I'm flying alone, never flown before. I am really bad at English, although my fiance is fluent in English. Any advice on how/where to learn english? Any things that I MUST know before my travel there? How to get dual citizenship? What must I need to take? How to get REAL answers from the embassy? Typo: I don't know Serbian but he speaks really good english. (I'm from America if you all are wondering where I'm coming from.)

REAL answers come only with real questions...

You didn't wrote from which country are you coming from.
You can easily learn english in Serbia, but my advise to you is to learn Serbian, since are you moving there. You will find classes of serbian for strangers in all big centers (if you move to small town, check out which center is the closest, like Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, etc).
Also, I don't know from which country are you coming from. You must check out does your country have embassy in Belgrade, does your country have some kind of memorandum that regulates dual citizenship with Serbia, etc. Is there Serbian embassy in your country now? Why don't ask them?

You'll obviously need a passport with more than 6months left on it (better to have at least 1 year).
You'll need a birth cert that is not older than 6months and has been stamped for authenticity from your country (so they know its real)
You'll need a police clearance cert from your country, also it needs to stamped.
Then once you get there, maybe you'll need straight away to make a 'Prebivalista' to show where you live.
Then I think you'll need also a 'Izjava' to show that someone can support you.
All these papers will need to be made first, then you'll get maybe 1 year visa and citizenship will be done after you have your marriage certificate.
Don't worry about your english, its much easier to learn when you are always speaking to someone, like your boyfriend. Get some basic childrens books in english to learn the names of things and the ABC, and you can learn grammer from conversation.
Good luck!!!!!!!!

Re: Moving to Srbija, any advice?
If you are really planning to stay here, the best way to learn Serbian is just listening and talking to people. Foreigners that I know that have moved here say that Serbian is a very difficult language to learn, but they are all trying and we respect that... Grammar is really awful so I think there's no point trying to go to some school and learning, no one will really mind, we're aware of that fact... You shouldn't have any problems if you talk to someone in English since most young people are fluent in English...
Nothing really to know, people say we're nice, famous for our hospitality, laid back and always ready for celebrations and party...
Getting real answers from any embassy is always tricky so I would suggest to be persistent... The should give you all the information you need on dual citizenship... And maybe your fiance could ask around if he's already in Serbia, it's always easier to get pass the bureaucracy tricks when you're talking face to face...
Good luck! :)

Re: Moving to Srbija, any advice?
I suppose that somebody else wrote this for you since you say you're bad at English..
Relax - that's the first thing to do. Serbs may be laid back and sometimes sloppy regarding their administration, but they are generally warm and willing to help. Prepare for a long wait for any paper work, though, as this can be painstaking. Depending on where you're settling, there are many possibilities for learning English. Try not to put Serbia in the same basket with the countries in the region: the Anglican and Anglo-American Studies have a long history in Serbia, and schools&language centers are thriving. You'll easily find one to suit your needs. Dual citizenship has its procedural demands: just file for it with the documents and prepare to wait.
There's nothing you must take, at least I can't think of anything. My experience is that whatever you didn't bring along, you'll find there. The embassy - I don't know which one you're referring to.
Bring your open mind and you'll enjoy your stay in Serbia!

Welcome to Serbia!!! You'll love it once you get there. People are very friendly there, they always wanna help, so don't worry. I wouldn't worry about citizenship and stuff like that just yet. Once the time comes for that your future husband will help you out with all that. First you just enjoy and get used to everything. When you think about stuff like that in advance it always appears much scarier than it really is. Once you're there you'll easlily find a private tutor that will give you english lessons as well as serbian, if you wanna learn it too. Don't worry as much, just enjoy Serbia. You'll see how beautiful and fun it'll be!

the advice is to enjoy
there are plenty english schools in belgrade so don't worry about that
also most of serbs understand english and spanish so if you are from the us its not the problem
to get real answers from the embassy ...call them (the serbian embassy in the states or your own embassy in serbia)
