 Many college students in China now learn English from movies and tv show/play from internet. Is it g The most popular resouce used for learning English include 'Friends', 'Desperate Housewives', 'Lost', 'Forrest Gump', 'Sex and the city' I am worrying it may cause negetive affect. What do you think?

Re: Many college students in China now learn English from movies and tv show/play from internet. Is Yes and no. They may learn slang (informal language) by watching those shows and movies, which is good because people do use slang in real life. However, obviously, it may not be the best way to START learning a language.
If you could find interesting documentaries or other non-fiction shows, that may be better for learning the formal structure of English.
