Post What Grammar software is there out there to help with my law school writing?
I am in my first year of law school and have not written in a while. Are there any grammar software programs that could help fill in the gaps and teach me proper grammar. For example grammar programs that could edit a paper for the use of semicolons, commas, split infinitives, subject verb agreement, the use of commas before and after however if it falls in the middle of a sentence.

Well any grammar program that is better than the basic one that Word has. I Googled it but lot of the grammar programs online for sale look to do the same that Word does. I'm looking for a grammar program that can more completly edit my paper for grammar problems not just spelling errors.

Woudn't it be better to learn English rather than rely on someone else?

You might take a look at Merriam-Webster. They have come across for me when I needed help. I purchased 5 different programs from them and you can also go on-line using their products. Hope this is a start. Good luck, you sound a lot like me when it comes to grammar.

CorrectEnglish is writing enhancement software that checks your grammar, style, development, and word choices to provide comprehensive writing help and feedback. It can be used either as a plug-in to MS Word and Outlook or as an independent word processor.

There are several versions available based on the kind of writing you'll be doing.

For full disclosure, I work for the company, but as this is exactly what the software is designed for, I thought it worth posting.

More info - including a comparison to Word that you can test yourself - is available at http://www.correctenglish.com/
