Re: tefl certificate no degree?
I have taught English as a secondary language in Asia since 1996, but without a minimum four year degree and likely a TEFL/TESL certificate, you will not get hired to teach abroad. Some language institutes will hire you with just a Batchelor's Degree and expect you to obtain the TESL certificate soon thereafter, but that is a case-by-case basis. I have known of some High School graduates who have taught English in Korea, but that is rare, and usually done privately, in cash, and without the proper work visa stamp in their passport. If caught, there is a heavy fine and deportation. The four year degree really doesn't have to be in a language, so any four year program will suffice to get your foot in the door. Good luck.
