Do you realize the irony in your question? You're asking a question pertaining to grammar to a bunch of idiots that don't even know how to use punctuation.

Re: what is a conjunctive adverb need help with a sentence.?
It is an adverb that is used to join sentences; however the two sentences do not form a compound sentence.
The words can be classified into a part of speech only when used in a sentence.
acquaintance - noun - She is just a casual acquaintance.
Capitol - noun - Visited the Capitol building yesterday.
capitol is also a noun.
controversial - adj - (from today's news) Tomma Abts wins Britain's controversial Turner Prize!
appropriate - I do as I deem appropriate.

You can use a conjunctive adverb to join two clauses together. Some of the most common conjunctive adverbs are "also," "consequently," "finally," "furthermore," "hence," "however," "incidentally," "indeed," "instead," "likewise," "meanwhile," "nevertheless," "next," "nonetheless," "otherwise," "still," "then," "therefore," and "thus."
Acquaintance is a noun - she is a close acquaintance of mine.
Capitol is a noun - The U. S. capitol is a masterpiece of archtitecture. (For any other use than the meaning of a building, the spelling is capital.)
Controversial is an adjective - the Supreme Court hands down many controversial decisions.
Appropriate is an adjective - you need to wear appropriate attire when working in an office.
