Post What is required to set up a tutoring business in Queensland, Australia? What advice can you give?
I've seen a few questions about setting up a tutoring business, but none specific to Queensland, Australia.

I've been tutoring ESL (English as a Second Language) to some people in my area. It seems there is demand out there, so I'd like to set up my own tutoring business.

I have a blue card (working with children card) and over 3 years experience in this area (including a year teaching in South Korea). I would be tutoring in my student's homes, libraries, cafes etc, and possibly in my own home.

Will I need any licenses to run this business?

Can you think of a good name for the business?

What set up costs can I expect for registering the business?

What form of business is best for this? I will not have employees.

I have heard that if I set up as a consultant rather than tutor I will pay less tax, any ideas on this?

Thanks :)
