I would recommend you a website http://www.exelchinese.com , which is teaching Chinese live online for free. Maybe you can try it.

Chinesepod.com is undoubtedly the best of the bunch, and I have recently started a Chinesepod Yahoo! Group to help fellow Chinesepod students.
There is also the Pimsleur lessons, which come on CD, a mini-player/audiobook chip or are downloadable. Quite expensive, but extremely comprehensive if you just want to learn how to speak Mandarin.

Re: What is the best software for learning Mandarin Chinese?
I personally used every software that I could find: Rosetta Stone, Chinese Now!, Clavis Sinica 3.1, Stackz, Wenlin, Ecdict, Ectaco, Tell Me More Chinese and many others that I have since deleted. Rosetta Stone is the clear winner. Go through disc 1 and 2. Unfortunately they don't have a disc 3 for Chinese. That being said, it is a comprehensive, soup to nuts program. You would be a fool not to go through the whole program if you are serious about Mandarin. It is a great addition to living in China and attending university which is how I used it. After seeing my progress in class, my classmates all got Rosetta Stone also.

Re: What is the best software for learning Mandarin Chinese?
I have found that nothing replaces an actual native Mandarin speaking partner.
Currently, I am learning Mandarin Chinese and for practice, nothing beats a native speaker to help you with pronunciation.
If you don't want to speak alot of money I reccomend:
http://www.xuezhongwen.net/chindict/chindict.php?page=main it helps with prononciation and a dictionary also.
http://www.mandarintools.com/cintro.html#learn
Has lots of links for learning
Some people like the pimsleur method.
Why don't you post that you would like someone to help you with Chinese. Lots of Chinese people want to practice English, so you can have language exchange. You can use skype and a microphone and headset to talk.
