I currently have my initial lisence in childhood education 1-6 and am getting my masters in special education. What requirements do I need to teach ESL in NY?

Hi there :) I went to the following website and did a search.

http://www.nysed.gov

In the search box, I typed in 'Certification' and there was an area to do an extensive search.

From that, I found the following website which I hope helps you out a lot.

http://eservices.nysed.gov/teach/certhelp/CertRequirementHelp.do

From the pull-down menu, simply click on 'classroom teacher'
Then click on English to Speakers of Other Languages
Then click on PK-12
Then click Initial Certification
SUBMIT
