What should I do to become a social worker in OHIO?
I want to get a social work job in OHIO. I got master's degree in social work in Eastern Europe.
I am interested in social work with children. So, I'm wondering how I could get involved in working in the field.
Do I need schooling in the U.S.? If so, what kind of classes do I have to take? Do I have to go to graduate school one more time in the U.S. to get American MSW degree? And do I need advanced English (ESL) certificates, or adult class work to get a job?

I have my green card.

The Council on Social Work Education (cswe.org) has a program to validate foreign degrees. If they evaluate your schooling as equivalent to US standards, then you want to contact the Ohio Social Work Licensing board. One you have gotten the social work licensing process going you should easily be able to get a job in social work.

You always have the ability to apply for jobs now as many jobs do not require a license. Also you may look at agencies that do refugee relocation (often associated with various religious organizations - as your experience would be a natural fit.
