Post What usage style do British newspapers go by?
I'm curious: In America, the press is meant to follow the Associated Press or AP Style for punctuation, spelling, and grammar usage. Is there a formal name (and possibly a published guide) for the style used in Britain? And if so, what is it called?

Thanks!

There's no overall style guide. Most newspapers produce their own in-house style guides, although at least two of them (The Times and The Guardian) are published and available to buy.

One of the major differences in style between US and UK newspapers is in headlines - in the US you have initial capitals for every word in the headline - This Is An American Headline - whereas in the UK we just use normal sentence case - This is a UK headline

i dont really understand. but alot of newspapers in the U.K have headlines that dont really make sense but catch your eye. like it wouldnt be robert smith got eaten up by his dog>it would be MAN GOT KILLED BY DOG. (this story isnt true)
there are so many papers in the UK. the biggest probably the sun .. news of the world .. daily mail. . the mirror, daily telegraph. and i think once a month theres the times, which is known here in the UK as half a tree. i dont know if i answerd ur question right .. ?
