I am currently taking the steps to becoming an ESL teacher in South Korea. I know that I will be paid well enough that I will have around $1,000 dollars extra each month. This would be enough to support another person! Would I be able to bring over my boyfriend to live with me while teaching English? We are planning on getting married but I don't want to be tied down to living in the states any longer and really do not want to end my relationship at this point in order to venture abroad.

Any ideas or input would be appreciated!

Is your question about visas (national issues) or housing (the school you are working for)?

Hmmm. You really need to talk to the Korean Consulate and ask for some very specific information about the local concensus on 'live-in' relationships. As a teacher, you are expected to do more than deal in grammar and spelling. You are also expected to be a role model. And in many communities, turning up with a live-in boyfriends would reduce your respect quotient to shreds.
