Where can I find information about teaching English overseas?

 Where can I find information about teaching English overseas? I am looking for an Asian country such as Japan to teach in as I have many Japanese friends and am interested in the culture.
Please enlighten me if yourself or someone you know has taught overseas and/ or places I can go to find more information about this.

Re: Where can I find information about teaching English overseas? I have taught English overseas in Korea for the past three years. I've had both good and bad experiences. Some of the hagwon owners in Korea will rape you blind, so you have to be really careful in terms of the school (and recruiter for that matter) and do research.
Many times you'll end up finding a job through a recruiter. Don't let them pressure you into taking the first thing they offer. If you get a recruiter like that, tell them to go to hell and don't use them.
I'm now working at a public elementary school and very happy with my situation. This summer I'm leaving to go back home with my wife (who is Korean).

Don't believe the money that is promised on internet websites.

Re: Where can I find information about teaching English overseas? id' recommend definintely checking out this website - http://www.daveseslcafe.com/ - also, i agree with one of the other answerers - do heavy research and try and get in touch with someone who has taught in the program/school that you are interested in.

Re: Where can I find information about teaching English overseas? I teach in Taiwan, but in an accredited international school, not a private English school.
First, you need to have a BA.
Then, do HEAVY research on the school and area you want to live in. Oftentimes private schools don't stick to their contracts and end up taking advantage of foreign teachers.
Check out eslcafe.com for more info, as far as I know, it is the most legit and widely known website for foreign teachers.
