Where to go for ESL teachers who are in their 60s?
I'm asking this on behalf of someone who is over 60 and currently teaching ESL in China. My question is - where can someone that age go in the world to teach English? The problem seems to be common amongst people. She can't retire back to the Western country she's from but wherever she looks at ESL positions they stipulate age restrictions like "must be under 30" or "must be under 40". Although I'm only in my early thirties, it irritates me that there is a belief that you're too old to teach. Does anyone who is a 60+ ESL teacher or knows one have any suggestions about which countries have the least problem with age limits? Advice?!

Was an ESL teacher in Croatia. They're starving for native speakers there. The cost of living is low, and the jobs are plentiful. It's worth a look if your colleague is interested in teaching in Europe.
Word of warning: Avoid the local Berlitz in Zagreb, the rest of the schools are great.
