I just find this so ridiculous and immature. especially calling someone stupid or lazy. sorry that some of us has a life and things to do other than correct our grammar and spelling and to hell with capitalization! sometimes I put things like "ppl" or "ur" because there is limited ammouts of characters to use when you ask a question which sucks because some sitiuations are hard to explain. now everytime I come across anyone checking grammar I report it, onlt takes a few secs. because I'm tired of that shit, but seriously why do ppl do that? does anyone agree with me? or reports it too?

and if anyone corrects my grammar on this one, I swear to god, you should be thankful this is over the internet and not in person, because I had it up to here with this, and ppl saying to get a life all the time, I have one I'm just taking a day off.

Well, you're on a public forum. When you ask a question, everybody has a right to answer. And there are a -lot- of people who write so poorly that you can't even figure out what they're trying to say. This annoys users. Some people are just petty. Others, it's just a pet peeve. Just take it for granted that you are going to get some of those. Yes, it annoys you. But this is the public, and it's pretty anonymous because it's online, so they're going to say whatever they want. Chill out and ignore them.

spell however you would like, you shouldn't care about what others have to say about your grammar. typing correctly doesn't take that much effort though. i choose not to because i am awesome, and i can do that, plus i write essays for school almost every other day. i don't need someone to tell me whats correct and what is not.

finally, you know the answer to your question, and its rather immature of YOU to post it just so you can feel better, as other people may be agreeing with you. don't vent hither. I just find this so ridiculous and immature.

It takes no more effort to write correctly than it does to improperly abbreviate and obfuscate your message.

Because if you have nothing of relevance to say or find the question offensive the best defense is to attack the person with charges of illiteracy and/or stupidity.

It is easier to correct someone else. We do that all the time in technical writing and translation. One person writes, the other validates (proof reads). It's normal.

I can send an email for example, after having read it 3 times. And once it's sent I take a look at it, and I spot typos ..... that's the way it is ;-)

BTW - congratulations on your quitting the habit, keep it up. (I'm trying too)

I agree, I like to shorten my words. Any text messager would understand that! No one has corrected my grammer, but don't worry about, when they do it to you they are just trying to sound smart or be funny. Ignore them. And great job by the way on quitting smoking. Keep up the good work!

well, grammar helps. there are some questions that simply cannot be understood. there are other questions that are pure "gobbledygook" ... nonsense that no one can decipher.

If a person will just take the time to read what they have written and put it in a form others will understand, it doesn't have to be completely grammatically correct.

By the way, if non-native speaking people would indicate before their question that they do not speak or write English as a first language it helps us to try to decipher what they are asking.
