I'm a student at CSUDH and no joke in two of my classes people have answered questions using some of the WORST grammar I have ever heard, I know 5 year olds that can speak using better grammar than these "college" students. I mean why can't people take the approach that they are in school not at home with their friends and they should speak to professors with respect not with a sense of kinship? What happened to the idea that you use correct grammar all the time, especially when in class?

Why don't you let the professor worry about that. If he or she is concerned with proper grammer I'm sure he or she will address it. Life is way too short to be so concerned with other people's habits!! You're never going to make it through school with that attitude!!

Unfortunately, the attitude that we should use correct grammar has become passe to much of the youth in modern America. I deplore it as much as you. Among other problems that this causes; since we think using words, sentences, and grammar; a person who can't speak with precision also can't think with any precision or clarity.

One of the things for you to note is that the professors allow students to speak like that. If they wouldn't allow it, it wouldn't happen.

Thank you for highlighting this serious problem that we have. Also, thank you for letting me know that there is at least 1 college student that recognizes that this is deplorable and who is not completely brainwashed by political correctness.
