I'm american but i'm hispanic and i don't speak like white people nor have their culture. I've met Japanese people who speak no english or just alittle bit of it, and they are really nice and accept me, i even speak Japanese to them and we can have a nice chat.

Japanese peple who speak english , that's a whole opposite. They start doubting if i'm American sayign things "Where are you really from?" "You're not american". things like that. and it's really stupid i think because. who in the world said that all Americcans speak the same. Sure that's what you see in movies and tv but why would they not think with their brains and realize that all people are different and all people speak differently.

The point here is that why would a person who has more language proficiency not be more open and accepting. I thought learning about the peoples of English speaking countries went hand in hand with learning english. And even if you don't learn, it's common sense.

If you have a Spanish accent, some people may think "Are you really from the States?"
But it doesn't mean they discriminate you or anything like that.
They DO know there are tons of immigrants in the States.

I understand that you felt uncomfortable or even upset with their attitude, but some Japanese people think ones who don't speak "American" English are not American or originally from the States, which is a very stupid idea.

Some Japanese people (who speak English) can tell the difference between Western, Eastern, Southern, white, and black accents.
Which means if someone speaks English with some other region accent, they think "Oh, you are not from the States."

But as long as people are born in the states and raised in "American" English speaking environment, no one doubt that you are American.

There are also cultural differences between Japan and America.

As I mentioned before, America is the "immigrant" country.
On the other hand, 98% are Japanese in Japan.
And there are many Korean people who were naturalized as Japanese citizens. But if they say "I'm Japanese", lots of Japanese people feel odd.

Well, I think since they're not from the US they don't know that other people over here can have an accent when it comes to the language. I'm from Louisiana so you can imagine my accent! If they just came from Japan, I'm guessing they don't have many foreigners there that try to speak their language and think that everyone should speak the same way. Which is completely not true. So, it's not that they're being dicriminatory, they just aren't familiar with the American people! Hope that helps....

the japanese themselves are the worst english speaker in the world. why? because they have their own english. like elevator, they would say erebeta. class they will say kurasu.
japanese can not even say L.

the japanese that u mention, i think they are the one who was fight to learn to speak english so well. that make them a little bit arrogant and also, naturally, in their custom, they never like to talk to the foreigner.

in the social culture of japanese, if u want to be their friend, u must at least have a japanese friend who will introduce u to the community.

but if japanese people who speak english are treating you like that it is because people in japan have the vision of american looking like blond hair and blue eyes.
that is the input that japan put on them
so if you look like hispanic maybe they are just curious about why you don't have blond hair and blue eyes
if so, just tell them that there are more different types of people in america that is called american
and please don't hate them for being stupid
they just don't know and curious
